He claimed that people in the older days have longer lasting publication because they are well thought of before writing. Imagine the level of preparation and avoidance of mistake needs to be in the authors then because if they make mistake there's no turning back.
We take it for granted that a mistaken sentence can be wiped off in seconds and recorrect millions of time, provided we have time. But I do not agree that the quality of publication is higher, although I do not have good example, as he discredit the Sixth Sense book as a low qualiy book.
It's true Sixth Sense is sa dry and maybe perhaps fail to inspire but I do not think it should be inferior to others as you will a lot of chance to re-edit your papers as much as you think to prepare your paper.
Not for me tho, I shy away from rereading coz i have lethargic problem with reading my own stuffs again. I must try to get rid of this bad habit. I must stick with things of my passion. Passion is lost when it becomes work.
