Bangkok to me is like a Malaysia we never had. Country of abundance of opportunities and riches tapped at as optimal as you can for a developing country. Thailand is plague with corruption as with every other developing country searching for its own identity. It serves to view the world as alien but important, yet break away from constaints of its own weakness.
Thai people are resourceful and at the same time manage to remain humble. They may stand at its own two feet, yet know very well that the world is their oyster, exploring the outer world is never an option. Thailand, just like China, has as many Thagalog-translated English book. People in Thailand loves to read, and they love their language. Just like China they see English as a supplement, never a compulsory.
Maybe because this country is so homogenous, most of the people are Thai-descendents, although the Han Chinese are the biggest minority in the country, you can't seem to differentiate one from the other. Neither can you identify the resistance against assimilation from the ethnic minority. Everything seems to gel so well when you see the Chinese. Maybe that's because everywhere you go, there always seems to have Chinatown( in Thailand they call Yaowaraj). You never heard of Malaytown, spotted in any countries.
Thailand is religious yet they know modernity is the solution to country's progress. Merging the wealth-effacing mantra of Buddhism and poverty-reduction economy theory, Thailand is an understated progress story. The last time I was in awe of well-organized cityscape was when I was in Jakarta. The lines are firm, the architectures are modern and they all mix up so well in preparation for developed status.
Thailand is a country of wonder and humility. I learn so much from it.
The whole unedited, no holds barred stories of a man charting new course in his life, it's the most exciting time of his life.

Bangkok
I am in Bangkok, seeping my cold cafe latte, checking out the scen e in Starbuck Siam Paragon. It was said that the cuties in Thailand is exulting, trigger the deepest sensory lust of a person. I think I shall agree for now.
I arrived in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, and I do not see anything. Was rather disspointing with the sights. Thai and CUTE do not quite register together for me. But as I walk along the main streets of Bangkok, I start to warm up to the scene, the looks and the comonality Thai boys has with each other. The beauty with them is the oval vnaity mirror look that reminds you of the Magic Mirror in the story Snow White, the ovality of the shape make their jaw line stands out. And the shape of the lips just shout 'luscious'!.
The girls are not bad too. No i take it back, the girls are sexy in an understated ways. They have so much to offer but they are clothed enough to beg for any straight-acting and serious striaght and real straight guys begging to check it out. I am seriously wrong to say this.
Populated with more than 8million people in a land size of 1.5k km2, (6 times the size of Kuala Lumpur, although KL has higher density measured by population per km2), Bangkok is the place to go to if you plan to visit South East Asia. Heck the Australian couple I saw in KLIA airport, when asked how they thought of KL, they said unapologetically they didn't visit KL, they flew from Perth and transit for a while in KL, ouch! Bangkok defintely has a lot to offer.
Other than the possible friendly nature of the people, not to mention how soft they speak, I always thought that Thai people are bunch of sissy, cause even the hottest most macho guy speak like they wanna beg money from you. Watching the ad in Thai's TV, you can see that they are not much different from Malaysian, converging to a hyper-vanity, nihilistic society.
As in anywhere else as well, Bangkok is a chokeful of different faceted groups, and I am not talking about race or religion here. Here you have the punks, the sissy, the it-girls, and skaterbois, and the Ugly-Bettys. The only addition stuffs here from KL is that you have much more of them. Maybe they do not have as many places to go to like in KL, everyone seems to reside in here. Starbucks is always full, I have to search for second Starbucks in order to finally find myself a seat.
Probably the first pet peeve I have of Bangkok is that I was told by the Starbucks friendly assistant, she is mighty comfortable with herself too, not that she has three nose hole and happy about it, that WIFI is never free here. Even in Starbucks you need to pay Baht 150 for an hour of internet surfing. In fact I just paid my share and wasting my time typing away my lines here. How profligatious.

Wimax
Wimax stands for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access is the new thing in online technology. It is the fastest broadband in the world. Compare to WIFI, WIMAX is claimed to have higher speed. Not only that the range of coverage for WIMAX is many times higher than WIFI, meaning WIMAX cater more people who are mobile and on the go. The range for WIMAX could reach 30 miles but satisfactory coverage maybe lasted only up to 5 miles, this is already better than WIFI which only covers a diameter of several foots.
However there are limitations to WIMAX, one of which that it is depending on operator availability. Without a transmiter in your vicinity, you will not be able to connect to it. WIFI in contrast is easily connected because most middle class restaurants are already connected. It's almost always that you see restaurants with at least a decency of offering air-cond to be connected. Wimax is not easily set up due to its large barrier of entry.
However according to some sources, WIMAX is an advantage because of better performing 802.16e, compared to other technology like HSPA??
There are currently four WIMAX operators in Malaysia. The first one launched August 2008 is P1 Wimax, owned by Packet One (P1). The CEO Michael Lai is aiming to reach subscribers base of 250,000. That's a big number considering he is working on expanding his coverage in addition to existing states like KLang Valley, JB, Alor Setar and Penang, he's reaching out to Kuantan, KT and Ipoh, yet he could not have coverage in my area!!!
I need another WIMAX operator!! NExt. We have Asiaspace, which launched its service also around the same time as P1 but I have not heard a single promotion coming from them, most likely than not this is a fly-by-night licensee who gets the benefit from the government's affirmative action. Next is REDtone which only serves east Malaysia for now. Finally YTD e-Solutions is on the way, personally led by Tan Sri Francis Yeoh, the executive chairman of YTL e-Solutions, you might or might not see the competitiveness of him, although I have not personally or directly affected by his business, it waits to be seen what Tan Sri can conjure. My take is that they just come connect me so that I can get rid of my slow Streamyx.
This sentiment is actually shared by a David Wong, chairman of Association of the COmputer and Multimedia Industry of Malaysia (PIKOM). He even suggested to strip of the licensee's license due their ineptness.
Other new internet technology coming to the fore that would complement the connectivity are 3G, which are already served by Maxis, Celcom and TM. Another faster technoology will be fiber optic which

Planning to stage a comeback
There's a lot of humility I have to go through. I have so many things on my mind. I feel guilty all the time.
If only my brain does not shout "EGO" all the time, I would be much happier.
I am just not good enough. The onslaught has begun, at least the way I see it. Maybe it has already started since I arrived almost 10 years ago.
Now I don't seem to have enough armours and weapons to fight it. It's always the EGO.
I need to have a system. I will document them in here as the need is pressing, fast-changing world is a culture, and if I dun achieve the level of ego-rubbing success by the time I reach the dawn of my life, I will rather die.
Three key elements to remember;
1. Humility and admitting mistakes
2. Patience will bear fruits
3. Control your temper.
Strategies to adopt;
1. Continuous improvement- I'll take MBA, constantly asking questions, act dumb to get crumbs,
2. Focus - on Career (elements of my work), Entrepreneur skills, and Networks
3. Recharge - let go when need to, I deserve it.
