Donna Lewis

One of the most memorable song ever to come out of the 90's is "I Love You Always Forever", a song that spend 9 consecutive weeks at no.2 back in 1996. I think the only reason it is no.2 is because america was in a Macarena craze. That Los Del Rios guys are making another chart one-hit-wonder history by denying someone more deserving a number one hit. 

In the end that song became one of the biggest hit of the year even though it did not hit no.1 in HOt 100, and brought Donna Lewis at the pedestal of stardom, at least for a while. She came to Malaysia during our commonwealth games(if I am not mistaken) and sang that song, and her second single Without Love. I think the first single was too good that she could never be able to pull off another at par hit. That's why she drift off from the fickle minded masses that is America.

I have not hear her song for a very very long time, occasionally her song would be played at Mix FM(national adult contemporary station), which still gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. I guess when I have a lover this song would be the top to-play list in a romantic candlelight dinner with my special someone. sigh...

Just to add a bit about Donna Lewis, is that she did not exactly did a one-hit wonder, she did come out with much lesser hits like WIthout Love and I Could Be The One, which barely make it to the Hot 100. That;s just too bad cause I was IN LOVE with I could Be The One, a beautiful, melancholic longing for love type of song. It did not get too many airplay during the late 90's.
